Introduction

Introduction
An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were reviewed for compliance.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation: there were several areas that are in need of repair cleaning or replacement, the metal around the soiled diaper bag is rusty and peeling (IT bathroom ), the carpet in the 3-5 bathroom is peeling up and a tripping hazard, the heater in the IT bathroom appears to have rust on it,
Corrective Action(s): please ensure these areas are repaired,replace or cleaned to ensure they are safe.

HYGIENE AND COMMUNICABLE DISEASE: 15030 - CCLR s.46(1) - A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.
Observation: the water bottles in all programs are stored in containers that allow the bottles to touch this promotes the spread of viruses and bacteria
Corrective Action(s): please ensure to bottles are stored so that they don't touch
