Routine inspection of hair salon in Assisted Living facility (Kin Court South).
Operator is Kin Village Association. Open on Mondays and Thursdays (morning until about 1pm).
Hair Services ONLY. No shaving, eyelash tinting, etc.
Barbicide is used for disinfecting combs, etc. between clients (after each client). Extra barbicide available - make sure you don't run out. Bottle has DIN number (good).
Clippercide (clipper disinfectant) is used for disinfecting clippers and scissors between clients - good.
***Rollers, brushes etc. are cleaned in hair washing sink (using a soap/detergent to clean and then items are disinfected as per hair stylist (you can use a low level disinfectant such as barbicide).
Stylist states that Virox (disinfectant from Assisted Living) is used on door knobs, sink, faucet, and other surfaces. Use as per directions on label.
Capes appear to be clean.
Towels are washed on site between clients (use hot dry).
Hair washing sink has backflow prevention as long as hose handle is left in faucet (handle is in cradle) to create an air gap as discussed - ok.
Hand washing sink with hot/cold water, liquid soap, and paper towels in a dispenser is also provided for hand washing - good.
