In the written response sent to Licensing, Manager addressed the contraventions and upon follow-up inspection, it appeared that all the areas previously identified of non-compliance were suitably addressed. An outdoor checklist was available for Licensing to review. Discussed the importance of outdoor play with the Manager and that children need time to engage in outdoor play rain or shine. Inspected the 3-5 outdoor playground and the revisions made to the climber. It was noted that there is enough clearance from the fence and open areas at the top of the climber were closed for safety.
It was noted that since the routine, a follow-up had been conducted to increase capacity. Please ensure that when the office room, which was identified as a nap room, prior to being used is free from hazards and cords are out of children's reach.
Licensing observed snack time in the IT program. It was noted that some children were secured in seats and some children were not. Staff stated that when children are done they will tell the teacher, but it was noted that children were sitting for snack for up to 30 minutes. Discussed with the Manager the importance of children being able to move from the table on their own when they are finished with snack. |
