Introduction

An unscheduled follow up inspection was conducted to review non-compliance identified at the last routine inspection #LARG-C3TNWK.

Contraventions

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
STAFFING: 12190 - CCLR s.22(2)(b) - A licensee must ensure that each employee (b) practices implementing the fire drill system at least once each month.
Observation: Fire drill for Jan 2022 was not completed.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that fire drills are completed monthly with children and staff in care. The manager said that an additional drill will be practiced in Feb 2022.

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19260 - CCLR s.58(2)(b) - The licensee must (b) review the care plan at least once each year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.
Observation: The care plan was not reviewed annually with the parent or any person requested to by the parent.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that all children's records are current and complete.

Comments

At the inspection dated February 2, 2022, there were 6 children and 1 staff present. Licensing did a walk through of the facility and observed the programs in operation and noted that the Licensee has addressed some of the previously identified contraventions.
At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified. Licensee is required to take corrective actions and bring the facility into compliance by below date.

The following education/discussion took place:
- Emergency Supplies: to add extra food/water to ensure that sufficient supplies are available onsite for all children enrolled in both programs.
- The manager was made aware of the medication expiry date, as well as fire extinguisher service due date.

This report was written off site and emailed to the facility. The contents of the report were reviewed with the manager on site.
