Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation: Upon inspection, Licensing observed a mop stored in the bathroom which was accessible to children. The Manager confirmed that cleaning products are used with the mop.
Corrective Action(s): During the inspection, the Manager moved to mop to the storage area which is no longer accessible to children.

Comments

At the inspection dated March 6, 2024 there was 1 child and The Manager present. At this inspection the above noted contravention was identified. Licensee/Manager to provide Licensing with a written response with actions taken to bring facility into compliance. The Licensing Officer will review the response. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool will be completed and a copy will be provided.
