Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act(CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations(CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice(DOLSOP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19100 - CCLR s.57(2)(d) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact. Observation: 3 children files were reviewed; 1 child's medical practitioner information is missing. Corrective Action(s): Please ensure all children files are complete. Date to be Corrected: May 31, 2021

Comments

On the inspection date of May 26, 2021 there were 5 children and 1 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contravention was identified and the Licensee is required to take corrective action to bring the facility into compliance. The contravention noted in this report was reviewed with the staff during inspection. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is attached. This inspection report was completed off site and emailed to the Licensee on May 27, 2021; No signature is attached. The following education/recommendations were provided: -Outdoor Play Space: to keep a log of all inspections, maintenance and repairs -Care Plan: to develop a support plan in consultation with parents for any child requiring extra support -Behavioural Guidance Policy; any actions not permitted, i.e. hitting, restraining, spanking, food or rest as form of punishment, etc... (see CCLR Section 52).
