Introduction

A scheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP).
Licensing reviewed the following areas for compliance:
- Licensing
- Physical Facility
- Care and supervision
- Hygiene practices
- Nutrition
- Program
- Child emergency records
- Reporting
- Care plans/medication

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice.

Observed Violations
No violations were found during the inspection.

Comments

Summary of Inspection

At today’s inspection there were 7 children and 2 staff present in the Group Child Care (under 36 months) program (GCC <36) and 5 children with 1 staff in the Group Child Care (30 months to school age) program (GCC 30 months to SA).

The facility Manager and an administration staff were also on site and assisted in reviewing the health and safety system in place for the facility.
At this inspection no contraventions were identified.
As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool was completed and a copy was provided.

The following areas were reviewed and discussed:
- COVID-19 prevention strategies were discussed whereby social distancing is maintained between staff and parents/visitors - space is delineated in the foyer. Napping areas are adapted for the children to maintain this practice
- Hygiene practices are adapted and sufficient to ensure the health and safety of the children
- Sanitization practices are thorough and a good system in place to rotate toys sanitized on a daily basis
- Outdoor play areas are utilized daily and sanitized accordingly
- Reportable Incident reporting to Duty line: #604 587 3936 for emergencies if area Licensing Officer can’t be contacted.
- Staffing plan to be submitted to Licensing as an update on available staffing at present
- Playground resilient surfaces is to be replaced in the next few weeks - this area is currently not used
