Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation: Licensing observed the following:
-Tiles in the washroom are cracked in many places. This is a repeat contravention from inspection # CLAN-BGMPDG
-The washroom was visibly dirty and dusty. Please correct by February 4, 2022
-Paint chips were observed on the baseboards
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure the facility is clean and in good repair.

Comments

At the inspection dated February 3, 2022 there were 3 children, and one staff and the Manager was present. At this inspection the above noted contravention was identified. Please correct the above noted contravention by February 17, 2022. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy was sent to the Manager.

The following education/recommendations were provided:

-The reportable incident reporting procedure and forms.
-The current COVID-19 protocols that are in place
-Reminder to flush water taps each day.

The inspection findings were reviewed with the Manager at the inspection. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the inspection report and the risk assessment were completed at the Burnaby FHA office. The report was written in .5 hour and this is not included in the report. A copy of these documents were sent to the Manager. If you have any questions regarding this report please contact me
