Follow up inspection
Renovations were completed and a few finishing touches were occurring at the time of inspection.
All three handsinks in the food premises were supplied with liquid soap, hot and cold running water, and paper towels.
A leeway was provided near the CYT equipment to provide access the handsink near the cash registers.
The rinse sink was supplied with hot and cold running water.
100 ppm chlorine sanitizer residual was available at the plate after the dishwasher final rinse.
100 ppm chlorine sanitizer was available in the bucket with wiping cloths.
Floor tiles appeared intact and ceiling tiles were in place.

The ambient temperature of the bottom inserts of the CYT equipment was between 1.2 to 1.3 degrees C internally (4 degrees C / 40 degrees F or less).
The water in the hot-holding component of the CYT equipment was at 60 degrees C. Note: All hot-held potentially hazardous food must be maintained at 60 degrees C (140 degrees F) or hotter and checked with a probe thermometer.
*Thermometers are to be added into the CYT equipment prior to using it. A copy of the corporate food safety plan and sanitation plan for the CYT program must be available on-site for employees to reference as well.
Handsinks in the customer washrooms were equipped with liquid soap and air driers.

Health approval to operate the food premises (including the beverage and dining area) was granted at the time of inspection.

Note: An application or health approval form and mailing information form was provided to Derek, Head of Construction, from Head Office. Based on my email correspondence with the architect responsible for the current CYT renovation project, the address of McDonald's #8159 provided on the submitted floor plans differed from the address on the permit to operate and the architect had confirmed that the actual address is different from the address on the permit to operate. Please submit a completed application for health approval to the Surrey Health Protection Office of Fraser Health regarding the permit corrections if the actual address of the restaurant is different from address on the permit to operate within 2 weeks or provide an update if the address on the permit to operate is correct.
