Introduction

A routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act, Child Care Licensing Regulationand the applicable Director of Licensing Standards of Practice. In response to the current COVID 19 pandemic this inspection focused on the physical facility, equipment and furnishings, hygiene and communicable disease control, records and staffing.

Observed Violations

PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance. Observation: Licensing noted the in the washroom the area behind the faucet is beginning to rust which can pose a safety hazard (tetanus) to staff and children. Corrective Action(s): The Licensee will need to repair or replace the area and address the cause of the rust. Date to be Corrected: 04 August 2020

Comments

At the inspection dated July 7, 2020 there were 6 children and 3 staff present. There was one contravention identified and it is noted above. Licensing provided to and reviewed with the Licensee the Fraser Health Resource for Childcare Facilities COVID 19 Prevention. Licensing discussed with the Licensee about WorkSafe BC safety plan and a reminder to ensure it is posted. This inspection was reviewed with the Licensee at the time of the inspection. This report and the Facility Risk Assessment Tool was completed off site (time spent: .25 hours) and a copy of these documents were sent to the Licensee.
