Introduction

A scheduled follow up inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and Provincial Health Officers guidelines for Covid-19 pandemic prevention strategies and to provide support and education where required.
Risk screening was completed prior to the inspection.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice.

Observed Violations
No violations were found during the inspection.

Comments

At inspection dated June 22nd 2020 there were 3 children and 2 staff present. Children were outside and staff were setting up for Preschool graduation.
Previous contraventions from the routine inspection have been addressed.
A temporary placement approval is in place to support essential service workers during Covid-19 pandemic.

Licensing reviewed the facility’s COVID-19 operational plan for prevention strategies and noted the following:
Health and safety system in place in response to Pandemic which includes, but not limited to:
* Appropriate sanitization of all touchable surfaces, toys, eating areas and bathroom areas at least twice daily
* Appropriate child/staff screening in place to ensure good health and limit interactions - parents drop off/pick up at the door
* Hand washing and hygiene practices appropriate to Provincial Health Officer guidelines.
* Social distancing methods in place where possible

The following education/recommendations were provided:
- To ensure that activities provided support children's emotional well-being when considering physical distancing which also provide curiosity, interest and stimulation to the children.
The following resources were provided:
- Covid-19 resource package
- How to wash hands - 2 posters
