Introduction

A scheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). A COVID-19 Prescreening was completed with the Manager prior to the inspection.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19070 - CCLR s.57(2)(a) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.
Observation: A random review of 6 children's records noted one was missing Care Card Number.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure all children's records indicate Care Card Numbers.

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19160 - CCLR s.57(2)(i) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (i) a photograph or digital image of the child, and other information that can be used to readily identify the child in an emergency.
Observation: At the time of this inspection, photographs or digital image was not found..
Corrective Action(s): Ensure photographs or digital image is available for each child in care. Licensing to provide sample emergency cards which contain an area for placement of the child's photograph.

Comments

Summary of Inspection:
At the inspection dated September 17, 2020, there was 6 children and 2 staff present. Staff ECE qualifications and First Aid certification is current and posted. At this inspection the following contravention(s) were identified or no contraventions were identified. Action required by the Licensee is indicated in this report. As part of the Routine inspection, a Facility Risk Assessment Tool was completed.
The following resources\recommendations are provided:
• COVID-19 Infection Control Assessment Checklist was reviewed. A copy of the checklist was provided by PDF email.
• Resource Package for ChildCare Facilities- COVID-19 Prevention and posters for handwashing was provided.
Sample Emergency Permission Cards.
Systems are in place to support and enhance health and hygiene practices. Parents have been provided with copies of Hobby Hill COVID-19 policies and procedures.

The report findings were reviewed at the time of this inspection. A copy of the inspection report and facility risk assessment were emailed (PDF) to the facility on Sept.17/20.
