Introduction

An unscheduled follow up inspection to inspection #LPEN-C5CTK4 was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DoLSoP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation: It was observed that a large amount of standing water was on the sandbox cover.
A new climber was built without any resilient surfacing below.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided to the children at all times. Please refer to the Director of Licensing Standard of Practice Safe Play Spaces

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19250 - CCLR s.58(2)(a) - The licensee must (a) develop the care plan in consultation with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.
Observation: Care plan was not complete with information to guide staff in what to do.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that a completed care plan is developed in consultation with the parent.

Summary of Inspection
At the inspection dated October 19, 2021 there were 15 children and 4 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified. The Manager will take action to bring the facility into compliance and provide a written response to the Licensing Officer. The Licensing Officer will review the response.
