Introduction

An unscheduled inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: 13020 - CCLR s.22(1)(b) - A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Fire extinguisher overdue for servicing Corrective Action(s): Please ensure fire extinguisher is service annually Date to be Corrected: April 3, 2023

Comments

At the inspection dated March 31, 2023 there were 3 children and 1 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contravention were identified. The Licensee/Manager was able to address the contravention, therefore no written response or additional follow up is required. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed. For this inspection the contents of the Facility Inspection Report and Risk Assessment were discussed with the Licensee and/or Manager while on site, however was written off site, and provided to the Licensee/Manager via email.
