HAZARD RATING FOR YOUR FACILITY: Low (≤15) Total Score = 12
Critical Hazards: There are no critical hazards.
Non-Critical Hazards: Total Number: 2
304 - Premises not free of pests [s. 26(a)]
Observation: Fruit/drain fly issue persists in beverage area and handwash station of Drive Thru. Most flies observed flying around both drains behind machines, but also resting under handsink and along wall immediately above this station. Moderate volume of flies noted.
Manager stated that pest control visited and provided active fly population controls. Daily application of cleaning agents and hot water also underway. It is possible that one or several of the drain tubes may be environments the flies use to breed.
Corrective Action(s): Continue to target the floor drains and beverage drain lines on a daily basis (or more) to reduce availability to quality breeding environments. Look for opportunities to reduce the bio-organic build up in the drains, including alternate chemical additives if available.
Violation Score: 9

305 - Conditions observed that may allow entrance/harbouring/breeding of pests [s. 26(b),(c)]
Observation: floor drains in drive thru beverage stations receive nutrient/sweet enriched liquids and are likely developing significant biomats or sludges in and along the walls of the drain pipes. These are perfect breeding environments for fruit and drain flies. There are also holes in the walls in this area, including around plumbing conduits into and out of wall below handsink.
Corrective Action(s): Continue to target pest breeding environments on daily basis.
Plug holes in walls as possible measure to reduce fly access to breeding opportunities within the wall structure that can't be observed.
