Observation: Manager does not hold valid FOODSAFE Level 1 or equivalent course training and informed that she is registered to retake a FOODSAFE Level 1 course on July 23, 2022.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure the Operator (Manager) and at least one staff member on duty in the absence of the Operator holds valid FOODSAFE Level 1 or equivalent course training. Submit a copy of your valid FOODSAFE Level 1 or equivalent course certificate to the district Environmental Health Officer by August 8, 2022. Printout of BCCDC Food Handlers Training Courses Equivalent to BC FOODSAFE Level 1 As of February 18, 2022 was provided to the Operator during the inspection.

Comments

Hansink was supplied with liquid soap, hot and cold running water, and single-use paper towels.
200 ppm QUATS sanitizer was available in the sanitizer pail, spray bottle, and third compartment sink unit.
Ware-washing was not occurring at the time of inspection as staff was busy with food service. It was reviewed to disassemble the vegetable slicer prior to cleaning and sanitizing it.
Walk-in-cooler, sandwich prep. coolers, under-the-counter cooler, and beverage coolers were at or below 4 degrees C.
Walk-in-freezer was at or below -18 degrees C.
Refrigeration units were equipped with thermometers.
Hot-held food was at or above 60 degrees C.
No signs of recent pest activity were evident at the time of inspection.
Signature on this report is not required due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
