Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Pot of broth observed to be in open van in back of parking lot. Internal temperature of item was found to be at 9 degrees Celsius. The staff described daily transportation of food items from Burnaby and Vancouver locations in this van.

Staff stated broth was to be discarded as it was a "mistake".

Food items are not to be transported in unsuitable vehicles.
Vehicles must be in state of good repair, in good sanitary condition and capable of maintaining temperatures of less than or equal to 4 degrees Celsius for transportation. Previously cooked potentially hazardous food items transported between locations must be transported in acceptable vehicle.

Observation: Thermal processing of Garlic chili oil. This method has not been reviewed by FHA. This item has not been included in Food Safety plan that is on file at Burnaby Health Department.

Comments

The under counter cooler unit has been completely repaired including upper stainless counter top. The stainless steel has been polished/cleaned and all exposed materials have been resurfaced with stainless steel materials. Ensure cooler is maintained in state of good repair. Any exposed styrofoam needs to be covered. Ensure suitable materials are used.
