Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA) and the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). Evidence for this report was based on the licensing officer’s observations, review of the facility records, and information provided by the facility staff at the time of the inspection.

The following areas were reviewed:

· Licensing
· Physical Facility
· Staffing
· Policies and Procedures
· Care and Supervision
· Hygiene and Communicable Disease Control
· Medication
· Nutrition and Food Services
· Program
· Records and Reporting

As part of this routine inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided. The Risk Assessment includes non-compliance identified during the routine inspection, and a 3 year “historical” review of the facility’s compliance operation.

Comments

11 staff files were reviewed. One staff's current CRC was found not in their file. The staff stated that they have a copy. Two staff's CRC were completed for their school. The manager explained that she had applied for them but she has not received the results. She also experienced that the CRC office at times were sending the CRC to our office or to staff directly.
She agreed to follow up with the CRC office.

The facility is in good maintenance and the files and records are well organized.

Please send me email by May 10 about how you have addressed the contravention (staff immunization) and the CRC results of your staffs.

Thank you for your hard work and compliance.
