Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Staff was using the designated handwashing station to wash and scrape used dishware before stacking onto racks into the high temperature dishwasher.
Corrective Action(s): Do not use the designated handwashing station for purposes other than washing hands. Use the back two compartment sink to scape, wash, and rinse the dishware.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): The handle of the ice scoop was touching the ice inside the ice machine. The manager stated that it is usually stored outside the ice machine.
Corrective Action(s): Store the ice scoop outside the ice machine or ensure the handle does not touch the ice.

Observation: There was a hole on the wall leading towards the back storage room.
Corrective Action(s): Patch the hole. All surfaces must be smooth, impervious, and in good condition.

Observation: There was no FOODSAFE certified staff on duty. This is a repeat violation.
Corrective Action(s): The manager must receive FOODSAFE certificate. Provided information and referred him to the FOODSAFE course. Once you have successfully completed the course, please email a copy of the certificate the health inspector at derek.song@fraserhealth.ca.

Comments

- General sanitation is good.
- Handwashing station stocked with hot/cold running water, soap, and paper towels.
- All coolers (upright, undercounter) < or = to 4C
- All freezers (upright) < or = to -18C
- Single rack high temperature dishwasher reached 74C at the plate's level during the final rinse cycle.
- Milk steamer wand cleaned with designated wiping cloth after each use. Changed every couple hours.
- Surface sanitizer was available in spray bottles at 100 ppm chlorine solution. Note: Windex cleaner is not a substitute to surface sanitizer. Use chlorine solution at 100 ppm to sanitize any food contact surfaces (ie. counter top).
- Dry storage area is good. Dry food items stored in carts with proper lids.
- No signs of pest activity.
