306 - Food premises not maintained in a sanitary condition [s. 17(1)]
Observation: Back maintenance room is in need of cleaning and decluttering. Potental harbourage area for pests. Snap trap near door.
Door handle missing, raw wood showing in hole.
Walk in cooler has 2 large, raw wood pieces on the walls. One is molding.
There is also duck tape in various areas in the cooler.
Behind laundry sink and laundry machine area.
Cutting boards are in need of repair, replacement or scrubbing; some minor molding scratches and grooves.
Personal items are being stored in rack on top of customer food items (drinks, juice, unclean lunch containers, snacks, candy)
Corrective Action(s): Back maintenance area: please clean, declutter and remove harbourage material.
Block and seal light showing through back door.
Remove raw wood and tape from cooler, paint or seal with cleanable, durable, non porous material such as plastic.
Clean corners of floors and see if small black specks (potential droppings) reappear.
Operator has plans to replace, repair cutting boards or use alternative food contact surfaces such as mini boards for cutting items such as bananas.
Remove personal items, store below or separate from customer items or store in separate bin.
