HAZARD RATING FOR YOUR FACILITY: Low (≤15) Total Score = 16
Critical Hazards: Total Number: 2
302 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not properly washed and sanitized [s. 17(2)]
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Can opener installed on the counter top is observed in unsanitary condition with grease and food debris. Staff removed the can opener to be cleaned during inspection.
Corrective Action(s): Clean and sanitize the can opener immediately. All equipment must be washed and sanitized using the 3-compartment warewashing method after each use to remove food debris and grease. Do not store dirty equipment to be used again as it can potentially contaminate food.
Violation Score: 5

401 - Adequate handwashing stations not available for employees [s. 21(4)]
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): [REPEAT VIOLATION] Hand washing station in staff washroom located upstairs is not supplied with liquid soap or paper towel. A re-usable towel is observed in place at the hand washing station. A bar of soap is also observed at this hand washing station. Staff discarded the bar of soap and removed the towel.
Corrective Action(s): DO NOT use bars of soaps to wash hands and re-usable towels to dry hands as both items can potentially re-contaminate hands after washing. Only use liquid soap and single-use paper towel to wash and dry hands effectively to remove potential bacteria. Ensure all designated hand washing stations are adequately supplied with hot and cold running water, liquid soap and paper towels at all times to promote proper, frequeny hand washing by food handlers to prevent contamination of food. Failure to comply in future may lead to progressive enforcement.
Violation Score: 5

Non-Critical Hazards: Total Number: 2
305 - Conditions observed that may allow entrance/harbouring/breeding of pests [s. 26(b),(c)]
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): [REPEAT VIOLATION] Back door observed propped open with a large piece of wood. Screen door is observed not in use. Recent pest report indicates the same violation. Staff closed the back door during inspection.
Corrective Action(s): DO NOT leave the back door propped open at any time other than receiving. The screen door may be used to allow fresh air on site, if necessary. Leaving the door open can allow pests such as rodents and flies to enter/breed/harbour on site and to contaminate food. Failure to comply in future may lead to progressive enforcement.
Violation Score: 3

309 - Chemicals, cleansers, & similar agents stored or labeled improperly [s. 27]
Observation: Two spray bottle of bleach sanitizer observed unlabelled.
Corrective Action(s): Label all sanitizer spray bottles to ensure staff are aware of the contents. All chemicals must be labelled to prevent chemical contamination of food.
