Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: 13020 - CCLR s.22(1)(b) - A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation: During inspection Licensing observed the fire extinguisher was not serviced annually.

Corrective Action(s): Please ensure the fire extinguisher is serviced annually

Comments

At the inspection dated May 31, 2023 there were 6 children and 1 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified. The Manager will take action to bring the facility into compliance and provide a written response to the Licensing Officer. The Licensing Officer will review the response. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided. This inspection and the risk assessment were written on site and reviewed with the Manager, a copy was provided.


The following education/recommendations were provided:

- Medication storage
- Emergency supplies
- Maintaining outdoor play space
- Reporting and documenting reportable incidents.
