Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Food equipment in storage area observed with food debris.
Corrective Action(s): Bin containing equipment was moved to the ware washing area to be washed, rinsed, and sanitized. Ensure all food equipment and utensils are stored in sanitary condition.

209 - Food not protected from contamination [s. 12(a)]
Observation: 1. Several food items were observed to be uncovered in dry food storage areas and also in coolers.
2. Food items such as boxed bananas, bagged potatoes, and other bagged dry food products observed to be stored directly on the floor.
3. Double stacking of food containers observed with no barrier or lid in between (e.g. bowls containing paratha filling).
4. Open can of rasmalai observed in walk in cooler.
5. Chemicals (WD-40) and insecticide (closed container) stored in the same area as food.
Corrective Action(s): 1. & 2. Ensure all food items are properly covered to limit potential contamination. Ensure all food items are stored off the ground to limit potential contamination of food and also to facilitate proper cleaning. Date to be corrected by: Today. Note: Operator began to correct violations at time of inspection.

3. Double stacked containers were unstacked. Ensure a suitable barrier is in place if containers are stacked to protect food from potential contamination. *CORRECTED*
4. Can of rasmalai was opened this morning, per operator. Contents transferred to a food grade container with a lid. Once opened, ensure canned contents are transferred to an appropriate food grade container with a lid or covering. The interior of cans may deteriorate over time once cans are opened.
5. Non-food chemicals noted above were moved to an area away from food. Ensure chemicals that are not compatible with food are stored in a separate area away from food.

Observation: Food debris and oil observed in several areas, including
- On floor in hallway leading to back door
- On surfaces of storage equipment (tables)
- On floor of dry storage area
- Along cook line (floor, cook line equipment)
Corrective Action(s): Ensure above-noted areas are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. Food debris and oil may attract pest activity, and may potentially lead to the contamination of food. Date to be corrected by: April 24, 2023.

Observation: Handle of hot water tap at three-compartment sink is not in place.
Note: Operator able to open tap with tool, hot water tap is left open and hot water was available at the time of inspection.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure an appropriate handle is in place at the above-noted tap to allow it to be opened and closed without the use of a tool. Date to be corrected by: April 18, 2023.

Reviewed cooling procedures. No concerns at time of inspection.
Hand sinks are unobstructed and supplied with hot and cold running water, liquid soap, and paper towels.
Three compartment sink is available for manual ware washing. 100 ppm chlorine bleach water sanitizer available in sanitizing compartment.
~200 ppm chlorine bleach water sanitizer available in bucket for sanitizing surfaces. Reminder to store wiping cloths in bucket when not in use.
No signs of pest activity observed at the time of inspection.
FOODSAFE requirements met at the time of inspection (operator FOODSAFE Level 1 certificate valid to December 9, 2023).
