209 - Food not protected from contamination [s. 12(a)] Observation: Toilet in now dry storage room is still on and functional and the space still continues to be used as a dry storage area for food. Food cannot be stored in the same space as a working bathroom. Note: the taps at the sink have been removed so still no working hand wash station is in bathroom. Corrective Action(s): Two options: 1) Move all food out of this space, fix the sink so staff can wash hands at the sink in the bathroom. Or 2) Decommission the toilet or otherwise make it unusable, remove toilet paper and have all staff use the customer washroom. Due: 1 week (March 15, 2023) Discussed with operator both options including what alternate space could be used in the dining area to create storage if she wanted to continue to keep the bathroom functional. Also observed a tap with hoses that could possibly be reconnected to make the hand washing sink usable in the staff washroom.
