Observation: Ceiling has 2 open vents with no covers. Open vents in ceiling may lead to the entrance of pests.
Corrective Action(s): Install vent covers that can be closed as needed to prevent the entrance of pests.

Observation: Freezer with double doors has a door handle that is broken.
Corrective Action(s): Repair or install new door handle. Additionally, defrosting of the freezer needs to be completed.

Observation: Missing light cover in food/dough prep area.
Corrective Action(s): Install new light cover. This needs to be completed by August 15th, 2017.

Comments

Routine inspection.

NOTE: Indian food is no longer on the menu.
Handwashing station is equipped with liquid soap, hot/cold running water and paper towels.
Recommendation: Repair paper towel dispenser so handle works properly.
Walkin cooler at 3c and equipped with thermometer.
Insert/prep cooler at 4c and equipped with thermometer.
Freezer is at -19c.
Temperature log is available and being recorded daily.
Bleach water sanitizer at 100ppm concentration.
Recommendation: Ensure to use 2 capfuls of bleach to 2-3L of water to get a concentration of 100ppm concentration.
Bleach is available for manual washing in 3 compartment sink.
Overall sanitation is satisfactory.
Recommendation: Clean under the wooden crate in walkin cooler.
Pest control is in place. Abel Pest control is contracted to do monthly inspections. Last Report dated July 10, 2017 was provided to Environmental health officer during time of inspection.

The following items require operators attention:
1. see above noted violations.
2. Recommendation: cleaning schedule should be implemented for weekly deep cleaning. Note: This was discussed with operator at time of inspection. Please provide Environmental Health officer with a draft schedule for August 25, 2017.
