HAZARD RATING FOR YOUR FACILITY: Low (≤15) Total Score = 9
Critical Hazards: Total Number: 1
401 - Adequate handwashing stations not available for employees [s. 21(4)]
Observation: The front of house hand sink that is furthest away from the point of sale area was not equipped with liquid soap or paper towels.
Corrective Action(s): Hand sinks shall be equipped with liquid soap and paper towels, and this particular sink was approved for use as a hand sink on the original floor plans for the premise. Discussed this matter with Mr. Singh and he indicated that Tim Hortons head office instructed that the sink is to be used for dumping coffee only, and as such all staff were directed to use the other hand sink at the other end of the front service area. Reminded Mr. Singh that Fraser Health allows for the dual use of hand washing and dumping old coffee in hand sinks for Tim Hortons restaurants. Mr. Singh agreed to correct this matter within 24 hours.

Non-Critical Hazards: Total Number: 2
306 - Food premises not maintained in a sanitary condition [s. 17(1)]
Observation: Filth and debris found under the two dry storage racks by the back door.
Corrective Action(s): Please keep the floor under the dry storage racks clean on a regular basis. Keeping this area clean will also aid in preventing attracting pests.

Date to be corrected: September 27, 2019
Violation Score: 3

311 - Premises not maintained as per approved plans [s. 6(1)(b)]
Observation: Ice machine was pulled out from its location under the cabinet and was sticking out into the middle of the aisle where staff work (i.e. make drinks) and walk.
Corrective Action(s): Premise was not originally approved with the ice machine sticking out into the aisle. Spoke to manager (Jagjeet Singh) and he indicated there was a problem with the ice machine not making enough ice due to the air vents on the side of the appliance being blocked by the cabinetry. Mr. Singh said the ice machine was pulled out about 1 month ago and he's not sure if this is a temporary measure or not. Ice machine will need to be placed back in its original location to prevent blocking the aisle way. Options to consider may include replacing the appliance or modifying the cabinetry to allow for more air flow for the ice machine.
