Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DoLSoP).
All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: 13020 - CCLR s.22(1)(b) - A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation: On review of the emergency supplies in the program, Licensing observed limited amounts of supplies that would sustain the program capacity for up to 72 hours of emergency care. Further discussed the requirements with the Manager.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure the facility is appropriately equipped to respond to an emergency situation. Please provide Licensing with a compliance plan by the date below.

Summary of Inspection

At today’s inspection there were 18 children and 2 staff present (which included the Manager)

At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified or no contraventions were identified.

Actions required by the licensee and actions required the LO included here.

As part of this Routine Inspection, a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy was provided to the facility along with this report.
The Risk Assessment includes any non-compliance identified during the routine inspection and a 3 year ‘historical’ review of the facility’s compliance and operation and is used to determine inspection frequency.

The following was discussed:
- Active Play promotion and increased outdoor play
- Hygiene and sanitization practices
- Lead in the water
- Emergency preparedness
- Licensing Duty line: #604 587 3936 for emergencies if area Licensing Officer can’t be contacted.
- Regular review of BCCDC website for COVID-19 updates (see link below)
