308 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces are not in good working order [s. 16(b)]
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): The metal part of tomato slicer that the blade assembly moves in and out of appears to be damaged. A couple of areas appear to have been damaged by the blades (for example, if the blade assembly was improperly installed) and are sharp/pointed.
Corrective Action(s): As there may be a potential risk of physical contamination, the tomato slicer was set aside to be discarded by management at the time of inspection. A replacement slicer is to be ordered. Tomatoes to be cut manually or another appropriate slicer to be used in the interim until replacement slicer arrives. Management to contact the undersigned EHO once replacement slicer has been obtained.
