Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION):
Expired health permit decal due to yearly health permit fees not paid. Fees of $150 are required to be paid by April 1 every year.
Corrective Action(s):
Owner provided a cheque (#000700) for $150 for the yearly permit fees (April 2016-Mar. 2017). Fees have been paid and a new decal will be issued.

Observation:
Hard to reach areas (behind freezer, floor under 3-comp. sink, and shelves under prep table) have accumulated grease, spider webs and food.
Corrective Action(s):
Increase the frequency at which these areas are cleaned. Ensure items are moved and then the surfaces are washed. Don't wash around containers or items.

Observation:
Premises is cluttered with excess containers, unused cookware (pots), and items not related to the business (household items). This makes it difficult to clean the premises as there is too many items to move. This will attract pests.
Corrective Action(s):
Declutter and organize the premises. Discard, sell, and/or remove these items from the premises. Operator has hired a person to complete the work, spoke to person and explained what was required to be done.

Comments

A routine inspection was conducted, the following observations were made:
- Cooler was 3C; freezer was -16C; thermometers present; and no temperatures recorded.
- Walk-in-cooler not in operation. Operator purchases food when an event is organized. Existing cooler adequate.
- Hand sink stocked with running hot and cold water, liquid soap and paper towels.
- All foods stored in food grade containers; covered; labeled; 6" off the floor; and in groups to prevent cross contamination.
- General sanitation is satisfactory. Improvement needed in mentioned areas.
- No signs of pests.
- FoodSafe certified staff present.
- Cleaning and painting of walls was completed. Good.
