Introduction

An unscheduled inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: 13050 - CCLR s.56(1)(c) - A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment]. Observation: Audit of fire drill records showed no drill practised or recorded for January Corrective Action(s): Please ensure fire drills are practised and recorded monthly Date to be Corrected: February 28, 2022 RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19100 - CCLR s.57(2)(d) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact. Observation: Audit of 9 children's files; two missing name and phone number of medical practitioner or medical clinic Corrective Action(s): Please ensure all required documentation is present and maintained Date to be Corrected: February 28, 2022

Comments

At the inspection dated February 4, 2022 there were 19 children and 4 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contravention were identified. The Licensee/Manager will take action to bring the facility into compliance and provide a written response to the Licensing Officer. The Licensing Officer will review the response. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed. For this inspection the contents of the Facility Inspection Report and Risk Assessment were discussed on site, however were written off site, (time spent .50) and provided to the Licensee/Manager via email. No signatures were captured during today’s inspection.
