Comments

Thermometer placed in the parmasean cheese cooler.
Mice droppings removed in the back area.
Nothing stored inside the handwashing station; accessible use.
No soup/sauce prepared at time of inspection and toaster oven not in use.
Inquired City of Burnaby Fire Department and verified that an exhaust hood is required if meatballs will be cooked onsite. No issue with the toaster oven.
As such, the operator can 1) remove meatballs and meat sauce from the menu and remain to cook soup/sauce with no meat OR 2) install the required NFPA-96 system and contact City of Burnaby and FHA for inspection prior to adding meatballs back on the menu. Update the Food Safety Plan with addition of meatballs and meat sauce.
Discussed options with staff onsite but please contact me when you have decided what you would like to do. Do not make meatballs or meat sauce until Health Approval is granted.
*Reminder again - do not make changes including menu change or equipment addition/layout change without Health Approval in the future.
Also reminded staff regarding Foodsafe expiry.
