Introduction

An unscheduled/scheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance. The manager was present for today's inspection.

Observed Violations
No violations were found during the inspection.

Comments

Summary of Inspection
At the inspection dated Jan 18, 2019 there were 17 children and 2 staff present. At this inspection no contraventions were identified therefore a written response is not required.Manager informed of change in assigned Licensing Officer with contact information provided. Discussed current system of attendance which reflects class times , and whether children are absent or present. Documentation includes varied times outside of regular class times meeting the intent of the section of regulation which includes recording times of arrival and departure. Discussed adding an additional step of " signing out " children as they are picked up from outside - indicating a clear transfer of care. Licensing observed Space Theme Day children were equipped with flashlights with programming throughout the room supporting the theme. Observed circle time , free play and snack.
As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.
