Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act(CCALA) and the Child Care Licensing Regulations(CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of practice (DOLSOP). All areas were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): During the inspection licensing observed:
-A rug that was frayed on one corner, and one chair cover appeared soiled (corrected during the inspection)
-Change pad in the GCC(30m-SAC) was torn in two spots preventing easy sanitization.(Corrected during the inspection)

Summary of Inspection:
During today’s inspection, there were 18 children, six staff and one manager. Licensing identified one contravention during this inspection which was corrected during the inspection therefore no further action is required.
As part of the routine inspection, a facility risk assessment tool was completed, and a copy was provided to the facility along with the report. Copies of the inspection report and the Facility Risk Assessment Tool were reviewed, discussed and provided to the Licensee/Manager.
