Introduction

An unscheduled inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance

Contraventions
Previous Inspection - Contraventions observed on FIR #JBES-AZHMDD have been corrected.
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19070 - CCLR s.57(2)(a) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.
Observation: During an audit of both preschool class files, it was noted that one child file is missing a medical insurance number.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure all legislatively required documentation is obtained and maintained at all times

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19100 - CCLR s.57(2)(d) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.
Observation: During an audit of both preschool class registration files, it was noted that two files are missing medical practitioner name. Licensing is aware of a shortage of personal medical practitioners therefore to meet the intent of the legislation providing the name of a local medical clinic frequented by specfic families

Comments

At the inspection dated June 13, 2019 there were 4 children and 2 preschool staff and 2 support staff present.
Minor coded violations were noted during today's inspection; no written response is requested at this time, however please ensure all coded violations are suitably addressed in a timely manner.

As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.
The following education/recommendations were provided:
· Promoting Active Play in the program
· Temporary Placements
· Lead in the Water
