During inspection Licensing noted that there are drop-sided cribs in the Infant naproom. Licensing reminds the Licensee of an email that was sent earlier in the year to all Licensees regarding new Health Canada regulations for drop-sided cribs regarding the prohibition of sale/ manufacturing and importing these items as of Dec. 2016. Licensing left a copy of the email as well as a brochure entitled "Is Your Child Safe? Sleep Time" published by Health Canada, at time of inspection.

During inspection the 3-5 program was in transition to go out for a walk in the community; the toddler program completed snack, engaged in circle time, (consisting of music & movement, & they then went out to play in their outside play area; the infants were engaged in a circle time consisting of music, (they were freely able to come & go to the circle as they pleased) & then going outside to play in their outside play area. Licensing observed the toddlers independently putting their garbage in the garbage can & their dishes in the container in their transition from snack.
Licensing observed staff talking to children about the transitions, assisting children with these transitions and assisting with problem solving when necessary. |
