Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Observed worker washing gloved hands with water and soap.
- Hands must be properly washed with warm, soapy water without gloves on to remove bacteria.
Corrective Action(s): - Instructed worker to remove gloves first, then wash hands before putting on a new pair of gloves.

209 - Food not protected from contamination [s. 12(a)]
Observation: 1) Stand up beverage cooler in front of food premises contains beverages customers can purchase and dairy products that are being used for workers to make customers coffee/drinks.
- These dairy products (ex. milk) is exposed to public to potentially contaminate.

2) Dry storage bins (ex. flour, sugar) contained scoops with handles submerged in food product. One bin of flour contained a metal bowl submerged in the flour.
- Contaminated hands touching handles and rims of bowls can then contaminate food.

Corrective Action(s): 1) Move and store dairy products in a location inside food premises.

2) Ensure scoops are stored in dry food with handles standing up or store scoops outside container. Replace metal bowl with a scoop that has a handle.

- Sliding door cooler (front area): 2 deg.C
- Stand up beverage cooler: 3 deg.C
- Off site storage room:
- Left 2-door cooler unit: 4 deg.C
- Right 2-door cooler unit is not in use.
- Handsinks have hot/cold running water, liquid soap, and paper towels.
- Chlorine sanitizer spray bottles present in kitchen and front area. Measured at 100pm using test strip.
- Hi-temp dishwasher measured at 76.2 deg.C at plate surface.
- Temperature logs are maintained.
- Valid permit posted in conspicuous location.
- Worker on site has FoodSafe Level 1 certification. Verified at time of inspection.
- Food in storage is covered and organized.
- Ice machine is clean and in good condition.
- Overall sanitation is satisfactory.
- No signs of pest activity.


COVID-19 Precautions:

- Discussed COVID-19 Safety Plan with operator. No Safety Plan was available upon request.

- Following control measures for COVID-19 were discussed:
- markers on ground denote 2m physical distancing between customers.
- Arrows noted on ground for directional flow.
- Workers wear face masks.
- Hand sanitizer available for customers to use.

* High touch surfaces should be disinfected with a higher level disinfectant, such as 1000ppm bleach chlorine solution.
- 20mL of bleach in 1L of water.
