Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Soda dispenser: Area behind plastic cover in ice dispensing area contains mould and mildew growth.
Corrective Action(s): The plastic cover was disassembled and the area was cleaned and sanitized. Ensure that this area is maintained in a sanitary condition.

Comments

Routine inspection conducted. Facility is generally in excellent sanitary condition. The following was noted:

1. Temperatures (Max: 4C/40F for coolers, -18C/0F for freezers; Min: 60C/140F for hot-holders)
- Prep coolers and cooling wells at 2C
- Beverage cooler in customer area at 4C
- Walk-in cooler at 3C
- Hot-holders (soups) at 60C or greater
- Walk-in freezer at -18C
- Temperature logs are maintained and up-to-date. Refrigeration units contain built-in thermometers

2. Hygiene and Sanitizing
- Handwash sink in food preparation area, kitchen, and washroom all adequately stocked with hot/cold running water, liquid soap, and single-ues paper towels
- Employee observed handwashing at time of inspection, proper glove use was noted
- Client washroom maintained in sanitary condition
- Sanitizing dispenser releases 200 ppm quaternary ammonium compound (quats). Sanitizing pails contained 200 ppm quats. Test strips were available
- Cutting board, knives, utensils, deli slicer were all maintained in sanitary condition. Employee demonstrated correct sanitizing procedures
- 3-compartment sink actively used to wash, rinse, sanitize equipment. Sanitizing compartment contained 200 ppm quats

3. Storage
- All food items are elevated at least 6" off floor - good
- Items are well organized inside coolers and in pest-proof food-grade containers
- Bread was inside pest-proof bins and stored on racks behind counter

4. Administrative
- All three employees / operators have FoodSafe. Current employee has FoodSafe certification that expires September 4, 2020
- Permit posted. Please call in to Health Protection Billing to renew permit (604-918-7677)

5. Pest Control
- No visible signs of recent pest activity at time of inspection
- Facility contracts professional pest control company to conduct monthly audits
