Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), and the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR), and the Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DoLSoP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): During inspection licensing observed:
-Potty chair stored upside down in top of shoes on the floor
-Children's diaper cream stored in drawer accessible to children
-Unsecured plug cable for string of lights against the wall accessible to children in the GCC (30m-SAC) classroom.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

Comments

Summary of Inspection:
During today’s inspection, there were 37 children, and 7 staff present.
At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified. Written response is required by licensee once contraventions are addressed.

The following was discussed:
Systems for documenting daily outdoor check
Licensing reviewed administering of medication procedures with staff.
Discussed the use of the non reportable log book.
