Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care & Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DOLSP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19380 - CCALA s.7(1)(b)(i) - A licensee must do all of the following: (b) operate the community care facility in a manner that will promote (i) the health, safety and dignity of persons in care,
Observation: Medication noted in a child's care plan is not available at the facility.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure all medications noted in children's care plans are available at the facility.

Comments

Summary of Inspection
At the inspection dated November 30, 2022 there were three children and one staff present. At this inspection the above noted contravention was identified. The Licensee will take action to bring the facility into compliance and provide a written response to the Licensing Officer. The Licensing Officer will review the response. As part of this routine inspection, a facility risk assessment tool is completed and a copy is provided. This report was reviewed with the manager and written off site. A copy of this report will be emailed to the manager.
The following were discussed:
Ensuring all care plans are signed and dated by the family.
Ensuring all care plans provide details of a child's additional needs.
CCFL recommends a printed copy of children's photos incase the electronic method of storing them fails.
