Introduction

An unscheduled follow up inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). Areas of non-compliance identified at the last routine inspection were reviewed today. The following contraventions have been addressed: 10050 - The Manager name is now posted but may need to be placed in a more prominent position as children's bags were blocking the information. 11010 - A system is in place to ensure that the heater is stored away safely prior to children's attendance. 12040 - The Manager now has a site specific CRC in place but is still waiting for the other 2 staff noted on inspection. A sharing form was observed at the original inspection but the clearance has yet to be received. Please ensure any staff working on site have a site specific CRC in place. 12140 - All certified staff files reviewed have validation information. 12210 - The staff file missing first aid certification is now current and complete. 13060 - Policies provided to parents are complete. 14010 - Qualified staff are now in place with one staff working with an approved exemption. This staff's certificate was posted during inspection.

Comments

Summary of Inspection At inspection there were 8 children and 2 staff present, one of which was the Manager. At this inspection no contraventions were identified. The following was discussed: - Ensuring availability of staff to support children with additional needs. - Follow up of site specific Criminal Record Checks Visit the CCFL website at www.fraserhealth.ca/childcare for additional resources, and links to the Legislation (CCALA and CCLR). A further follow up will be completed as part of the first year of monitoring. This report was provided to the Manager and Licensee by email. Thank you for your time today.
