Introduction

An unscheduled follow up inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DoLSoP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation: It was observed in the outdoor play area that the landscape material is posing a tripping hazard in the wood chip area.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times.

Summary of Inspection
At the inspection dated May 17, 2022 there were 62 children and 17 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified. The Manager will take action to bring the facility into compliance and provide a written response to the Licensing Officer.
