PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11230 - CCLR s.47 - A licensee must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.
Observation: LO observed and discussed the following with the Manager:
Water temperature in Preschool classroom's sink was measured at 53 degree Celsius. This sink/water is accessible to children.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49 degree Celsius.

STAFFING: 12050 - CCLR s.19(1)(b) - A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (b) character references in respect of the person.
Observation: 2 staff files were reviewed; both staff members had either reference letters or phone numbers of their references, but no indication that their references were checked.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that staff files are complete.

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19320 - CCLR s.59(a) - In respect of a record referred to in this Division, a licensee must (a) keep in a single place at the community care facility the records referred to in sections 56 to 58.
Observation: 2 staff files were reviewed; a staff member's file was not available onsite. A conversation was had with the Manager about keeping all staff files in a single place within the facility including sub teachers.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that all staff files are available onsite for review.
