Introduction

An unscheduled inspection was conducted to review compliance with the Community Care & Assisted Living Act (CCALA) and the Child Care Licensing Regulation. All areas of the facility were assessed for compliance.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation: Drywall is exposed in areas of the nap room where paint has chipped away.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that drywall is not exposed.

Comments

During the inspection dated November 23, 2021 there were 6 children and 3 staff present. During this inspection the above contravention was identified. The manager will send a written response to the Licensing Officer stating how the contravention has been addressed. The Licensing Officer will review the response. This report as reviewed with the manager and a copy provided.
The following was discussed with the manager:
If a child has a food sensitivity ensure that actions staff need to take if the child has a reaction are readily available.
