Introduction

A scheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.
A Covid-19 risk screening was completed prior to arrival at the facility.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19320 - CCLR s.59(a) - In respect of a record referred to in this Division, a licensee must (a) keep in a single place at the community care facility the records referred to in sections 56 to 58.
Observation: The Licensee was unable to locate a staff file.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that all records are stored in a single location in the community care facility.

Comments

Summary of Inspection
At the inspection dated October 14, 2020 there were 4 children, 1 staff, and 1 person living in the home present. At this inspection the above contravention was identified. The Licensee will take action to bring the facility into compliance and provide a written response to the Licensing Officer. The Licensing Officer will review the response. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool and a Covid-19 Infection Control Assessment was completed and a copy provided. This inspection and the risk assessment were written off site and a copy was provided to the facility.
The following education/recommendations were provided:
· Increased sanitization procedures
· Facility cleaning supplies and products
· COVID-19 prevention strategies were reviewed and discussed.
· Information in the non-reportable log
