At the inspection dated Dec. 18, 2023 there were 7 children and 1 staff present. The manager was also on-site during the inspection and assisted Licensing. Actions required by the licensee includes a written response. This report was reviewed with the facility manager during the inspection. The facility manager said that today's discussion with Licensing will be communicated to the licensee.
The following discussions were provided today with the facility manager:
- Addressing the paint peeling off the corners of the wall (small portions) at these locations: the wall near the classroom/playroom, the wall at the small hallway just before entering the bathroom, the wall in the nap room. Due to the paint peeling off, the drywall has been exposed.
- Addressing the following - The soft material (that has been attached with black tape) covering a short wall surrounding part of the outdoor play area has come off (near the steps), exposing the short wall made of rocks, and children can potentially injure themselves if they trip and fall.
- Addressing the staff's CRC, which although came from the CRC review board, was not under the name of the childcare facility but rather under a college's name.
Licensing was on-site today for a follow-up inspection, as Licensing received a written response from the licensee today that said and confirmed that the contraventions Licensing identified on the routine inspection on Dec. 13, 2023 have all been addressed. Upon Licensing observing these contravened items from the last routine inspection, it appears that the listed items above still need to be addressed.
Please inform Licensing once everything listed above has been addressed. Licensing will do another unscheduled follow-up inspection at a later date.
Licensing observed today that the attendance sheet indicated all of the children's time of arrival.
A copy of this report was sent to the facility.
