Observation: Microdermabrasion tips disinfected with 70% isopropyl alcohol.
Corrective Action(s): Microdermabrasion tips must be disinfected with a high-level disinfectant such as CS20. Correct immediately.

Observation: Operator using eyewear that appear to be sunglasses (no label indicating that it is protective and safe eyewear meant to be used when providing laser or IPL services).
Corrective Action(s): Ensure adequate protective eyewear is obtained prior to providing any laser services. Correct immediately.

Routine inspection:

Waxing/massage:
Hand sinks provided with liquid soap and paper towels.
Linen sheets changed after each client.
Paper liner to line treatment beds single use.
Wax sticks and strips single use.
Hot stones washed then disinfected down with 70% isopropyl alcohol.

Facials:
Tweezers used are not meant to break skin. Lancets are presterilized and single use. Sharps container available for use.
Use CS20 for extractors.
Hydrofacials machine tips disinfected with 70% isopropyl alcohol after use.
*Metal abrasive tips disinfected using 70% alcohol - must use CS20. See above.

Manicure/pedicure:
All semi critical nail implements cleaned then disinfected with PREempt CS20 solution after use.
Pedicure tub disinfected with bleach solution after use. Reminder the pedicure tub is to be disinfected using bleach diluted to 1000ppm. (20 ml of bleach with 980 ml of water).
No longer using single use files or abrasive material for foot file.
Credo blades are single use and discarded into a sharps container after use.

IPL hair removal:
Hand sink in treatment room available - ensure it is used.
Laser warning sign posted on door when machine in use. Mirror in room also covered when hair removal services are occurring.
Laser machine is key operated and is equipped with an emergency on/off button.
Laser hand piece disinfected with 70% isopropyl alcohol.
Client goggles disinfected with PREempt CS20 solution after use.
*See above regarding operator safety goggles.

Ear piercing:
Studs are prepackaged and presterilized.
Ear piercing gun is wiped down with 70% isopropyl alcohol after use then stored in a clean container.

Other:
Washroom hand sink provided with liquid soap and single use linen towels.
Laundry services done onsite.
Utility sink available for use in back area. PREempt CS20 solution available for disinfecting semi critical implements.
