Introduction

An unscheduled inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
LICENSING: 10050 - CCLR s.11(1) - A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility both the licence, including any terms or conditions of the licence, and the name of the manager.
Observation: It was noted during the walk through of the facility that the Manager's name is not posted in a prominant place within in the facility
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that Manager's name is posted at all times

Comments

At the inspection dated February 14, 2020 there were 5 children and 2 staff present.

One coded violation was noted during today's inspection; however no written response is requested at this time.

Discussion regarding medical practitioner information on registration files, options could be but not limited to local Drop-in Clinic or local Emergency Room at hospital to meet the intent of the legislation.

As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.

The following education/recommendations were provided:
· Promoting Active Play in the program
· Temporary Placements

The following resources were provided:
· Reportable Incident Bulletin
· Active Supervision
· Safe sleeping environments
· Child Care Links: Program of Activities
· Lead in Water
· Knowing the difference between Cleaners, Sanitizers and Disinfectants.
