Introduction

An unscheduled inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
LICENSING: 10050 - CCLR s.11(1) - A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility both the licence, including any terms or conditions of the licence, and the name of the manager.
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing noted that the Manager's name is not posted within the classroom
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure the Manager's name is posted at all times

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19070 - CCLR s.57(2)(a) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.
Observation: Audit of 8 children's files revealed one file missing medical insurance plan number and immunization status.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure all legislatived required documentation is obtained and maintained at all times.

Comments

At the inspection dated December 14, 2022 there were 18 children and 3 staff present.
At this inspection the above noted contravention were identified. The Licensee/Manager will take action to bring the facility into compliance however a written response is not requested at this time.

As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed. For this inspection the Facility Inspection Report and Risk Assessment were written and discussed on site, and a copy was provided to the Facility Manager.
