Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DOLSOP). All care categories were assessed for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11220 - CCLR s.23(2) - A licensee must have first aid kits that are readily accessible to all employees, including while care is provided off the community care facility premises.
Observation: The first aid kit has insufficient supplies.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that first aid kits are replenished with sufficient supplies; this kit should be readily accessible/available while care is provided to the children in/off the facility.

Comments

On the inspection date of August 9, 2023 there were 6 children and the Manager present. At this inspection the above noted contravention was identified. The Manager is required to take corrective actions to bring facility into compliance. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and reviewed with the Manager onsite and a copy was emailed to the Manager. LO conducted a full walk-through of the whole house at this inspection.
