Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DoLSoP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11230 - CCLR s.47 - A licensee must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.
Observation: Licensing observed that the heated water temperature in the bathroom exceeded more than 49 degrees Celsius
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that any heated water accessible to children is no more than 49 degrees celsius

Summary of Inspection:
At the inspection dated October 25, 2023 there were 7 children and licensing met with the manager. At this inspection above noted contraventions were identified.
As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.
Following was discussed:
Having a nearby clinic name for the registration form if the family is new or do not have access to family doctor.
Making sure all forms have start date included.
Making sure that any locks that are not in good repair are fixed in a timely manner
